Bengal alliance with BJP on: Mamta
TWO DAYS after resigning from the Vajpayee Government and withdrawing party's support to NDA coalition, Mamata Banerjee said that her party's electoral alliance with the BJP in the coming Assembly elections in West Bengal still existed.
"We have not snapped ties, it is their responsibility if they broke it," Banerjee said before the crucial meeting of the extended policy-making body of the party.

Working News Cameramen's elections
S N Sinha, Pramod Mathur and Joginder Chawla were re-elected unanimously as president, general secretary and treasurer of the Working News Cameramen's Association at its Annual General Body meeting held on Saturday.

CPM rejects PM's proposal for inquiry
THE CPI(M) politburo on Saturday joined the Opposition's chorus demanding that the Vajpayee government quit office since it had lost credibility and the moral authority to govern the country after the Tehelka expose.
"Nothing less is acceptable to the people," the Left party said, as it dismissed the announcement of a judicial inquiry into the exposure as a 'diversionary' and 'delaying tactics' aimed to bail out the Government from the present crisis.
It also rejected as 'unacceptable' the PM’s appeal for a debate in Parliament given the government's obstinate stance and determination to defend the culprits.
