Medha flays SC's directive
PTI
Bhopal, August 29
NARMADA BACHAO Andolan activist Medha Patkar on Wednesday issued a statement highly critical of the latest Supreme Court directive on the issue of contempt against Booker-Prize winner Arundhati Roy saying the judges had not shown "patience" in dealing
with the matter.
She was commenting on the apex court's direction of August 28 for issuance of notice to Roy asking her to show cause why contempt proceedings be not initiated against her for imputing motive to the court.
Patkar said she was concerned that the judges had ordered issuance of notice to Roy while she herself and lawyer Prashant Bhushan had been spared.
