Patkar's fast enters second day

BHOPAL, OCT 26: The five-day fast by Medha Patkar, the leader of Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA), in symbolic protest against the recent Supreme Court judgment allowing construction of the dam for the Sardar Sarovar Project up to a height of 90 meters, entered second day on Thursday.

The NBA leader is staging the fast at the Polytechnic Square near Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh's official residence.

Patkar, who is maintaining that the NBA would not accept the Supreme Court judgment on dam for the Sardar Sarovar Project has also said that those to be affected by it in Madhya Pradesh would not celebrate Diwali as a mark of protest against the Apex Court judgment.
