The dharna of the people from Sardar Sarovar Project affected villages continued for the 10th day in front of the tehsil office in Alirajpur town. Records and application from different villages with respect to land acquisition are being prepared after the initial discussion with the district collector on 26th January. On 28th Feb in a letter submitted to the district collector the project affected had demanded that the responsibility for rectifying the records with respect to land acquisition lies with the administration and with regard to this a time bound programme needs to be prepared. Its significant that the collector had promised earlier that a proposal will be prepared within seven days from the receipt of these applications.

The project affected have demanded that keeping in mind the special circumstances of the submergence area a temporary copying centre needs to be opened in Alirajpur from which the oustees under the 'Right to Information' ,by depositing the requisite fees, get important information. Also they wanted to know by which date they would get information with respect to what they have demanded.

The oustees have already issued legal notices to the Vice-Chairman and other officials of NVDA. In a letter written and sent from the dharna site the oustees have said that they are willing to settle in a land of their choice. It's totally illegal not to have a discussion on the proposal, which they have submitted. The work of the officials of the NVDA is to do proper rehabilitation of the oustees. In this respect they will have to hold discussions both with the oustees as well as their sanghathan. Also that it will be a violation of the SC judgement if they expect the oustees to approach the GRA in Bhopal from every grievances they have.

In support of the struggle many people's organisation, eminent persons and others from different parts of the country have written letters in support. The Tamil Nadu unit of the NAPM have written a letter to Secretary of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in support of the demands they have raised.
